Just A Comment

Seems like whenever a comment is made about a retro part----it is always negative. I want to do the opposite.

I just purchased a pair of 40 fenders from Wescott-----they were great. They fit, weren't warped, all of the brace tabs were correctly located and beefed up as well. Just what I was looking for!

Thanks for a good product!

Sanborn, there have always been some reproduction parts that fell short of the mark, and those hobbyists that would paint all repro parts with the same brush. The fact is, the availability of repro parts, including those that need a massage to make them work, is what has kept this hobby alive and well all along. The fenders you bought fill a definite need, they aren't for everyone, but without choices available like that, there wouldn't be anywhere near as many old Fords as there are today.

I say it's great you are happy with the product, Westcott gets some good word of mouth, another Ford back on the road, everyone wins.

I think there are alot of good reproduction parts but its like the evening news, you usually only hear the bad news.

Some of us cannot buy the original or re-produced metal parts. Paying a thousand dollars for a beatup set of fenders is beyong my means, considering the cost of bringing them up to standards. My A has all fiberglass fenders and unless you touch them you wouldn't know it. Now it's a street ron not a restoration.

The same with the front fenders on my 55 F-100 and with all due respect to those who have thier vehicles judged, mine is a driver so the fiberglass is good enough for me. :) Steve

I have a 1940 "restrorod" with a top of the line set of fenders and body. My blood pressure goes up every time I am in traffic for fear of someone running into the car----the cost of repair can get real crazy---plus the hassle of dealing with the insurance people/maintaining current appraisals, etc.

So for my next vehicle, a 40 pickup, the finish will be just as nice as the sedan but the fenders and running boards will be fiberglass. The truck will be a almost daily driver and I just don't want the fear of damage when I drive it.
