Hi guys hope I can get some help , put in new brakes in my 1940 ford also new master, and wheel cylinders new hoses and bled it i cant get a hard pedal car won't stop.

Read through this thread. It tells how to adjust the brakes. Do that first. Do Not Let
the Master Cylinder run dry when you are bleeding.

Also, buy Speed Bleeders so that you can make it a one man job when you bleed them. They work great. This thread tells you all about them. Buy the long ones mentioned in the thread.

Here's the correct sequence for brake bleeding.

Also, some wheel cylinders made off shore are incorrectly made.
Read about it here, then check yours out.

Make sure you have no leaks in the brake lines.

Last, but not least. The SEARCH function is your friend.

Did you have the shoes arced to the drums? If not, you may have a very small contact area and thus very poor pedal and stopping efficiency.
