Looking at the judging manual under tools they show a jack identicle to yours calling it an A-17080-B2 which was introduced in Jan. 1930. Manufactured by Auto Specialties it was 8 1/2 in. tall and was the first screw jack. It is a one piece cast steel base and screw housing with no rivets. Hope this helps. I know someone will have the exact description.

Ray The right jack for 1930 but there were about 3 or 4 that could be used. It depends on the date of your car . In other words if you have an early 30 then you have the wrong one. .If you have a late 30 than you would have the wrong one . But that was a great price. They are worht a lot more than $12.00

Correct height of Ford supplied jacks is crucial factor. As TK says, it is Auto Specialities [ SJ] at 8.5". These manufacturers were making all sorts of height variations for different auto companies. It gets quite confusing with earlier ratchet jacks as they were also used for Model T's.

I'm sure that Auto Specialties made jacks for other cars, as I have a jack that is identical except for the top.

Newbie question , Where is the jack, lug wrench, tool kit, stored in a 1930 Tudor. The car we just aquired had none.
Thanks

im not trying to be pickey but i've read where "A" model tool's were painted a gloss black ...im trying to collect a set of A model tool's my self, could some one tell me which would be right, flat black or gloss ?

Nice jack for the price. Finding a orginial jack handle might be a little of a problem? In the mean time Bratton's has one listed for such a jack for $32.00 ... Don Turley can help you on other tools you might need. And he does a nice orginial finish on them too.
