Is thread sealant needed for new water pump bolts

I installed a leakless water pump from Snyders. I also bought the bolt kit that replaces the factory studs to make it easier to install. My question is do I need to put thread sealant on these bolts? Are the holes blind or do they go through to the water passages?
Thanks
Curt

Just did mine a couple weeks ago. I used the water pump sealant on the threads. I believe on my hi comp head the 11 o'clock bolt and the 5 o'clock bolt went thru to the passages. I may have put it on all the bolts just in case.

Hi Curt,

I always used Anti-Seize by "Permatex" on head & engine bolt hole threads & on all bolts screwed into engines threads & head threads.

The next guy who removes any such Model A bolts coated with Anti-Seize will never lose his religion cursing because they will be easy to remove even after several or many years.

Both Forums are loaded with stories of bolts shearing while being removed.

Just do this because of past Model A experiences even over 50 years ago.

Just replaced my water pump today. I used blue silicone sealant for the gasket/bolt holes and anti-seize on the threads.

Did a shake down cruise and ran great with all A-OK.

Then took Bonnie to a car show we parked in. Still A-OK.

Just got home and hour ago from the car show. Still A-OK.

Great day it was. No leaks.
