Is this hood normal?

I stripped all the paint from a stock hood I am using on my 30 Tudor. Upon doing so I discovered something I considered unusual. Both of the top sections of the hood were made up of three separate pieces of metal that were somehow seamed together. This was done before the hood was formed as one of the seams is right on one of the rolled hinges. Has anyone else seen this? Is it common? If so why did they do it this way? I did take some pics before putting some primer on them, but I cannot figure out how to shrink the files as they are each bigger than allowed. If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it.

I don't know what operating system you are using. I have XP on my PC and all I do is to right click on the photo and a window opens with a few options which one is to resize photo.
Hope this helps you

It is not a Ford hood, or it has been altered. I have hundreds of Model A Hoods and none are made that way. Steve in COlo

You can use a free program called Irfan View to shrink any picture. Just google Irfan View and download. It is really quite easy to use.

don.t know about your hood but i have a floor pan that was done that way . 2 pieces put together and then pressed out with the anti-drum stamping lines. Looked like Ford came out short on a piece and placed a 3 inch piece across the whole piece. And yes i have pictures before the car was torn down with Very orginial black paint and "NO" signs it was ever removed.

I do think this is an original hood. Here are some pics I hope they work.

Just proves what I've always heard. Ol Henry never threw anything away that could be used. I even heard of handles on Model T hood sides not matching.
