Is this a trailer queen?

I put my '52 F-7 to work the last few days, hauling 96 tons of crushed stone in 15 loads. Does this qualify for a "trailer queen"?? It is 12 miles round trip to the quarry.

Cecil, that looks like what I would call a "big mean hauln' machine" ;). I think it does normally spend a lot of time in a garage or shed though :D.

That's cool! Good for you! I have long toyed with the idea of buying a decent old '40COE as we haul a lot of hay (11 horses) but have yet to find one with the "cool patina" of yours. I keep looking...

Not much of a load for that heavy duty job. I'm sure it will handle lots more. I hauled many loads of 18,000 lbs of gravel with this poor little F-500. This one was built for the US army & the P O requested heavy duty frame & suspension. No pics of the loads tho,but they were heaped way over the sideboards. Round trip was 50 miles. It just had 223 in it with a 4 speed & saddle tank. They are sure workhorses. Nice truck . What engine & ****** does it have?

Lookin' good there Cecil, I could have used some of that crushed stone... Maybe if you leave now, with a full load, you could make it to my place in time for the 2014 Barner's Bash"...:)

if its driven farther than in and out of the garage, and touches asphalt its not a trailer queen

Cecil, here's my fully loaded trailer/garage queen

ps....does that transmission on the front of the trailer between the two blocks look familiar?

Kube, My son met a guy in PA, near Harrisburg, that has a '41 CEO that is supposed to be in decent shape that he hauled from WIS., I think, and he wants to sell it or he may junk it.

It has the 279 Cu in OHV with a 5 speed OD trans. A former pumper truck for a fire dept. It's pretty slow until you get it wound up on the hihgway. 45 mph is about tops unlee its in 5th over.

I met a man from Lenardtown, Md at the Tri State Truck show in Winchester, Va in Oct. that had a '51 F-7 that he had installed a 332 cu in engine and added a 2 speed axle. I think it would really haul a load. The 5th gear OD that mine has, has too much gap between 3rd and 4th gear to gain much speed, unless it is going down hill. It will truck along in 4th pretty good at 30 mph and 45 is about tops for 4th. It also has a lot of spread between 2nd and 3rd. Makes it hard to get up to speed. I wouldn't want to depend on it if my house was on fire, the ashes would be cold before it got there.
