Is this a correct adjustable wrench for a Model A?

With all this tool talk I'm wondering...where were these tools keep/stored/carried in the vehicle?
Did Models A's come with jacks? And where were these stored/carried?

Don
im astounded that Marc accepts the monkey wrench with the USA on it
as its not specified as correct in the Joint JS 1997
Ive always assumed they were V8 wrenches
further digging into the blueprints revealed they were released Nov 1931 which meant that very few would have made it into the Model A assembly plants
As of last month the tool section was held up for i believe one small detail
on the jacks
it will probably go to publication and printed with the rest of the sections any time

Until Area 17 of the "Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards" is revised, MARC still accepts the ones with USA. Tom, do you know when Area 17 revisions will be published?

Tom, here is a link to a description and photo of the Adjustable Wrench on the MAFCA web site. It appears to be the one with Ford script + USA

Are we confusing correct for the Model A, with correct for 19XX year and month? It might be a wrench that was used in the Model A era but not correct for E28 as an example.

lets try this again
according to the JS (approved by both MAFCA and MARC) 1997 edition ,which is the last one published and in use until the newest 2015 edition comes out

the adjustable wrench can be plain without the script or have the Ford script
there is no reference to the Ford USA marked adjustable wrench

as the MAFCA photo states at the bottom "for more information consult the RG&JS chapter 17"

the MAFCA photo is not wrong,it just is new information to show that further research has been done on this wrench and documentation was found that showed this Ford USA wrench was introduced in Nov 1931,but read the JS to see what is currently accepted
Ford USA tools were not used before November 1931
Ford USA tools were used well into the 40s ,so there are a lot of them out there
Dave Adair has done some nice articles in the Restorer showing the actual blueprints and the reference to the dates
the 2015 revised edition will reflect thousands of hours by many people researching tools,it will as correct as humanly possible

I believe the bottom one was made after the Model A production years. There are actually 2 versions of that wrench with Ford USA script and plug end. The other version I believe is correct for November 1931 to end. The difference is in the shape of the indent where the script is cast. The Model A version most likely is the "square" indented version not the common post production oval indent. Maybe someone has a documented November 31 kit to confirm?

Since I am not an expert on Model A tools, can someone identify this adjustable wrench as being Model A? If so, what time period?

I don't have a documented very late 1931 tool kit, but do have a picture showing the differences of the indent.

When the new revisions are available, I guess I have some work to do
rearranging tools in my kits!!

OK I'll go out on a limb here. I believe that this wrench is correct for fairly early 1928. I have 65 or so of these "monkey wrenches" and only 3 like yours.

Ford specified a script for the tools in 1928. Not so much after that.

I have this exact monkey wrench & like Ray, believe it to be for 1928.

I think it was Bill Henderson who put out a good pictorial of all the Model A tools as they changed every 3 or so months throughout production.
This Moore Drop Forge Ford script wrench is in his early 1928 section.

I believe this is the one that came out in 1926 for the late T's with the square rear end drain plug and was used up into 28 or even early 29. As noted above, it is the least common of the Ford Script monkey wrenches.

I also have a Ford U.S.A wrench with no indentation behind the script - just another oddity to add to the confusion...
