Is there a difference?

Is there a difference (major difference) between a 57 ford town sedan/ fairlane front cross member and a 56 Victoria front cross member.

I ask because on my Vicky it is of course rotted out, and I have a donor car of a 57 that I am parting out, so the though occoured to me. I can't look at them side by side as they are 30 miles apart, but just wondering if anyone knew.

Could it fit with some (minor) modification? Or would I be better of making/finding the right one?

Goodell fabrications make a beautiful replacement piece. There was someone on this Site making them, but I think he no longer makes them

54, 55 & 56 car frames are the same. They went to a different style frame in 57. Nothing is interchangeable between the 56 and 57.
There are a couple of resto parts suppliers who sell the crossmember new.
Last I looked, they want about $250.00 just for the part.
I had a new one installed on my '55 in 1981. The part costed $100.00 then. Concours sells them, but you should shop around and see if someone else sells it cheaper.

I think a good metal man could cut the old one out and reproduce it. Finding him would be the problem.
