Irregular Flash with Turn Signals

I just recently completed the installation of a Signal Stat 900 Series Turn Signal Kit from Snyders on my 6 volt positive ground Coupe. Everything works great at idle; however, when traveling down the road and using the turn signals, it is a different story. They flash so quickly that they almost appear to be constant. I followed the instructions and scraped the paint from the steering column to provide the ground.
After reading other threads about turn signal issues, my guess is that it is the 3 prong flasher unit. If you have been down this road, please share what flasher works?

Like Mike said, what bulbs are you using ? If the signals are flashing consistently, but, fast, is generally a sign of not enough load on the flasher. Higher candle power bulbs may help.

I do not have LEDS, and all the bulbs are lit. I will verify the correct bulbs tomorrow, once I dig out the specs. Thanks everyone. Will let you know what I find.

An electronic flasher gives the most constant flash - our thermal one would change speeds with engine revs and brakes. The electronic one works fantasticly... other than when a bulb goes, the rate STILL stays the same, so no warning.

I checked the bulbs yesterday and found a 3cp bulb in one of the brake/turn signal. Thank God the second brake light had the correct bulb. The cowl lights bulbs are 3cp. Need to order a couple bayonet 21 cp bulbs for them. I also got another heavy duty flasher. It was raining yesterday, so I didn't check to see if the issue resolved with the correct brake light bulb. If not, I'll swap out the flasher. Thanks for your help.

I think a little higher CP bulbs will cure the problem. An electronic flasher sounds like a good idea too. The plain ole warp switch style flashers used to be pretty bullet proof, but, the newer ones are pretty much junk. They're probably made in china or one of them thar ferign countries.

The higher CP bulb in the brake light solved the problem. Don't know what I would have done without your help! Thanks.

Just changed my flasher to one from Bratton's and the lights flash steady and not the fast/slow sequence before. Just in time for a year ending tour and jack stands, moth balls, Irish Spring and battery tenders. Also included are mower and Model T batteries.
