Hoop is still gone but both the assaulter and the assaulted on the $90,000 32 have posted since this was written so it is good for it to go away .

Diagnosis:

Definitely a case of thin skin and to much leasure time on your hands.

Treatment:

Take two aspirin and call me in the morning.

Alternate Treatment:

Find two Hookers tonight and come back to the Barn tomorrow with a limp noodle.

Prognosis:

Alternate Treatment if followed will result in a Happy Ending!!!!

 Anyone else noticed the shift to more bickering - less GOOD info here ? Now we can add crucificition to the list . Anyone remember the thread about a username change ? The bandaged up guy{HOOP} got thrown under the bus for something pretty lame - worse yet the true offender got patted on the back to the point he probably had a mild shoulder seperation . Now we have a $90,000 32 on the for sale side where claims were made & details were questioned . Now I don't know about you folks but if I am paying $90,000.00 for a toy I want to know the true story . As an example of this in the 80's I had a thing for mopars with 426 hemis from the factory & all was fine until the spring of 1989 when the prices these were bringing really took off . From my point of view this was great as I had 18 of them and the IRS & I did really well on selling them .That is also how your back yard goes from 130 ftx90 ft to 3/4 mile x 1 1/4 miles . The point of this though is when these things got really expensive many old drag cars- rust buckets etc got thrown together with whatever old used up motor parts they could find with little regard for what was actually correct . I saw many of these thrown together cars sell for GOOD money and quess what ? When the market softened up some & people actually took the time to properly evaluate these cars many that had bought incorrectly done - many wrong parts cars found they couldn't even sell the cars - let alone get your money back . Now I am NOT saying this 32 is in that category but a very knowledgeable 32 guy asked some questions about the claim of production date & he was pretty well crucified & I am pretty sure his knowledge & stash of good info are now lost to the readers of this site . GOOD ONE guys - you just appointed yourselves the head of the 32 info department . As for me I think it's time for a long-maybe permanent break also & you same folks can help out on 33-34 stuff like I used to try and do . E-nuff is E-nuff so see ya
A perfect example of nothing to say and taking so long to say it:D

the forum is the place to say anything related to early fords, the classified is to post ads. anything said about an ad should be on the forum not posted on the ad.

I guess that the appropriate person to question the validity of the seller's claims would be the one with $90,000 to buy the car. The poster gave enough contact information so that this could be a one-on-one matter and not brought up on the the forum. Were you planning on buying the car,Dave? If so, were you going to spend that kind of money sight unseen?

I kinda like the ability to provide objective criticism of a sale item. After all, if a person is paying 90k for an item that is claimed to be x condition, he should get that. In the world of restored high point cars, big money talks and there are bad deals to be found. If you think Ev8s are something, just look at the brand x lovers who go by the part number of every little part of a garbage truck engine. Objective comments, not bickering!

Hope your kidding. Hard to tell on the internet, even with the little smilie things.

If not, this is exactly what David is talking about.

It's good to take a break.

I really appreciate the people here who have helped me to make my 1932 Ford better. There is a lot I can learn from them if I listen and do what they say. I was lucky that mine was complete and mostly correct when I bought it, but before I paid 90k for anything, I would examine it carefully with someone else that might know more than I did about it and would expect someone buying a car to give it the same scrutiny. This is still a hobby and both the buyer and the seller need to work together so that both are satisfied with their deal.

"into the abyss" is where this thread should quietly go. Obviously the OP has anger issues and has bid us his goodbyes, so he's not looking for responses.

You have one of the most, if not THE most, knowledgeable 32 Ford guys posting here on Fordbarn (David G). I think you can take whatever he tells you straight to the bank!! So what if he questions an ad placed here for another seller. At one time, on the old Fordbarn, you were not allowed to post an ad informing folks here about an item listed on Epay.

I agree 100%. I have studied his book and appreciate that he takes his time in answering my quesions.

Seemed like the problem was the way the production date question was asked. Wouldn't that be based on the frame (or title) serial number? There was not a guarantee of authenticity only that the car had been judged at some point. It seemed like an attempt to get a chance to berate the car or show hubris here on the forum and ad crapping is not permitted. A personal inspection would be in order for a serious buyer. The potential buyer could then determine if the car was up to his standard and worth the price.

DavidG I hope you rethink you decision you are a valued person to some of us here. The problem is there are a lot of fng`s and just plain negative assuming people that just want to talk and dont really know what they are talking about. There are a lot of guys who are trying to make the quick buck, and are wording adds etc in ways to entice a person that doesnt have the knowledge such as yourself and to some they will believe such nonsense, lies and misrepresentations. I am not saying this is the case with Diggers post or car or anyonelses for that matter. Just JMO on alt of things you see on the internet. If i was to buy a car for amysome of money i would seek out a expert and get there opinion and information as to what i was buying , if i didnt know or feel comfortable with the situation. Again please rethink your decision for those of us who enjoy your knowledge and need it. My .02 Dave

Ditto. Many sellers on ebay conveniently leave out the problems or show their ignorance . If we are to interest new people in the hobby, we must offer all the help we can. Once burned and they will give up on old Fords.

This a great post there are alot of high end and not so high end buisness`s that are out there taking uneducated people for lots of money and giving Contractors, auto repair, auto body, Hot rod shops, etc a bad name because of the misrepusentation that these people give when selling or doing work for the consumer. It`s a reality that just isnt right but buyer beware!! for thoe of you who want to keep the blinders on thats fine your choice but you will be the first to come ***** about it and try to make people feel sorry for you. A guy like davidG and other knowledgable people here try to educate and learn from the board and it has to be a pissing contest when there is fact to the matter, or a question asked. The what ifs and buts and shoulda coulda woulda , the blame after the fact, and the people who will try to push the mistakes on to someonelse when they realize they have been mislead is wrong and puts a sour taste to buyers and sellers and again people will not trust those in the buisness cause of that so the people who wont stand by and see misleading inferior work etc should not be scolded . As i write this i feel theres no need to even try to give my opinion i am just glad ik how to network with the people who matter and it doesnt have to be just through these threads. i am not going to waste anymore time on the matter either. We all believe what we want but that doesnt mean its right...

DavidG and others thank you for all you have brought to this board and the 32 ford etc in general I for one appreciate it!
