Having started on this old gentleman something over fifty years ago, I've concluded that it is probably time to finish the restoration of our 1923 Touring Car while I still have at least a hope of one day finishing it. I've had quite a few Model A's over the years, but this is the only Model T other than the remnants of a 1919 running gear. I acquired this car when I was either still in high school or just starting my college experiences, and thus far have been able to get the running gear rebuilt and back together, and the body reassembled and painted. However, I have a few questions on the interior and am hopeful that some of you might be able to provide some guidance in this area. While I have less than no interest in ever showing this car, I would like to see it finished as nicely and as reasonably close to its original appearance as I know how, and accordingly, I would greatly welcome and appreciate everyone's feedback.
Over the years I have seen multiple patterns used on seats, but it appears that the most prevalent on the 1923 models that I have seen is a single set of buttons that are placed roughly a third of the way down on the seat backs and around the sides to the respective doors and a similar single row of buttons on the seat cushions that are placed roughly a third of the way back from the front edge of the seats (measurements if possible would be helpful). I am also thinking that there is a bead that runs along the front edge of the front and back seats cushions respectively, and that below this bead is a solid (not pleated) section that runs to the bottom of each seat cushion. I also seem to recall having seen some seats that had a double row of alternating up/down set of buttons on both the front and back seat cushions and seat backs, but I'm thinking that perhaps this would have probably been on earlier cars???
Any and all thoughts and recommendations would be most appreciated. Pictures would be especially nice.
Thank you all for taking the time to take a look at this and for giving me any guidance and insight that you might have.
