You might want to check out that 6 cyl. In the big trucks they had 254 ci engine. That has more power and torque than the V8. the smaller truck had a 226 flathead head and had almost as much HP as the V8. Walt
 
Walt is so very right , the 8mth flat head in my 51 buisness coupe would start off in second and smoke the tire going away from the 239s, course it was .080 over 2 to 3 adapter and a 97 feeding the beast. ernie n tx
