Intake mainifold color?

Just a quick question, is the intake manifold suppose to be black or engine green???? I have always painted them black... bobbycoke

I believe in the engine compartment, all cast iron engine parts were green except for the exhaust manifold which was plain.

And the distributor cast body, which is black.

If you want it to look original, paint it engine green. If its just a fun driver any color that you like should be ok. A couple of my dual updraft manifolds are red!!!

And, I suppose (if the Zenith carburetor can be considered part of the engine) the carburetor body should also be included as having been painted black.
