intake ice cold

While running my dads motor, the intake gets very cold after a while is goes down, but, oddly super cold first start, my carb levels out with the air mix turn all the way in, if you turn it out just a little runs too rich, is there a easy way to install a new seat there,,

I would also check the float level and whether or not your running an air cleaner. We originally had the typical paper air cleaner installed in the air maze housing. Went to the larger 5.5" long K&N filter and it leaned the mixture out big time.

Of course I then ran into other problems like the super slow leak the float in the new carb had. caused it to run richer and richer as the float filled. took a total of 2 hours of running (leak was on the top) for it to go from normal to pouring out of the vent.

I'm not sure what you mean by ice cold intake?

Ice cold intake is common and normal. It's from the mixture moving through the intake from the vacuum. It's cools it from the gas moving through and causes condensation on the outside. Sometimes you'll even get frost on them.

The expanding air from the venturi absorbs heat resulting in the cooling. This is the cause of carburetor icing. The intake is mounted on the exhaust manifold to counter this effect.
