I'm sorry if this topic is beating a dead horse. I'm fairly new here.
I have my 35 insured through my regular Alstate agent. It's on storage coverage at the moment and would only take an email to get it covered.
I have questioned my agent a couple times if my insurance would cover
an 80 year old car that's worth $xx,xxx. He's a good agent for my daily drivers but I'm not convinced by his "wishy-washy" answers on the 35. Of course I want liability coverage if I cause harm or damage to others and my current insurance has that taken care of. This car is both priceless and worthless to me. Priceless in sentimental value and worthless because I will never sell it. I don't drive it much...might get 100 miles a year now that I live in a place that has more than 3 months of summer. If I'm involved in an accident I have my doubts that Alstate is going to cover $xx.xxx but would probably do $x,xxx. They would never be able to replace the sentimental value and I don't believe they would cover whatever the actual value of the car is. With so few miles a year, do I keep my current coverage where I can turn it on and off at will? Is there an antique car insurer that works in MI and takes into account that the car isn't driven much and can flop back and forth between driving and storage modes?
