When installihg rubber back into windshield frame I put a long piece of string into groove where the rubber slips back onto the window frame, correct?? When rubber is installed onto car, pull string and this pulls the rubber into place,no sections folded under. Am I looking at this correctly. Thanks!!

somewhat correct, it is better with at least two people, place window on the inside and pull string to outside, use soapy water for a lubricant, be sure the string crosses over itself so you can make sure it is long enough

Thanks, I understand soapy water or detergent on actual window or groofe glass fits in,didnt know I would need it to get rubber on car itself or window frame.

I agree with Alan... two people make the task much easier. I use glass cleaner (spray) as it won't bubble up when it gets wet later on.
Make sure you end at a corner of the glass with the nylon line. That's the strongest place.

Thanks, will be installing today. The nylon line or twine go's in groove with glass or in outer groove toward body. Thats the way I understand it from instructions. I know why you would use it but not sure if its to bring rubber gasket out from body or rubber away from glass. Prob more obvious when I start. I like tip about glass cleaner

years ago i helped a good friend of mine put a windshield in his old chevy someone told him to use dish soap so we did put it in the rubber gasket all around worked great except for when it rained hard when driving he had enough bubbles to wash his car and the one behind him
