Installing Rocker Panels 34 Coupe

I have two questions about installing the rocker panels on my 34 5 Window Coupe. The front subrails have a lip that runs the length of the rails. Does the rocker panel fit on top of this rail or does the rocker panel go over the lip?
Second what is the best way to attach the rocker panel to the side of the subrail? Should I drill holes in the flange of the rocker panel and spot weld it in place or just tack in place?

Thanks

Below the lip . Drilling holes in the flange tabs to plug weld is a good choice . Spot welding would be better but getting at it will be hard at best .

Dave:

Thanks for the information. Also would you happen to know what the gap is between the bottom of the door and top of the rocker panel.

Thanks

Lucien

Ted's probably close - The gap should be the same around the door . If your parts are made right this should take care of itself - it has to match the cowl & quarter so it isn't really adjustable .

I was standing looking at a Roadster and the gap looked quiet close then when i got down low I was surprised how wide it was .
