I usually put the engine in from the front, not through the door as wrndln shows in post #15.

Sounds like i got a plan! I appreciate it you "been there done that" guys!

I do find it interesting that the 3rd spark plug hole will balance with a trans but to me that seems like an awful lot of weight on one spot, and if it somehow cracks/breaks there goes a whole lotta time/money crashing into the floor... I like the sling ideas and can always add a few extra ropes/snug fitting chain just in case of those "oh sh*t" moments.

This is what I use, the chain can be adjusted for length and balance point.
