Installing door seals

I'm going to be installing the door seals on my '36 3 Window Coupe. Does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to install the doortop seal into the channel on the door? Does it need adhesive or is it a friction fit? Also, how does the door bottom seal attach? Any suggestion is appreciated.

I use brush on super glue. Brush on inch are so and hold toStart in the middle of the door top. End under the door. If you need to add 3m black weather strip in the corners fo extra holding. Works nice for me. Be sure to have the weatherstrip turned the correct way.

Modern replacement weatherstripping will almost always be of a density greater than the original. Immediately after gluing it on, close the door and leave it closed for several days to allow the rubber to take a set in correct position. You may have to install the bottom strip later, as all at once may prove to be too difficult to close the door.

The top door seal goes into that moulded channel and is held firmly in place without having to use adhesives. The only place I glue that rubber is the corner, at back of door where both strips need to be cut at 45 degrees and glued. The bottom seal is retained by the door panel clips, you need to sandwich it between door and the door card. There is one other seal; it runs down the front edge of the door. That one needs to be glued into place. In my experience, it is the most problematic of the seals. Good luck, have fun!
