INSERT ENGINE FROZE UP ! 31 Model A fordoor

Hey Bob,
Have you determined what the heck all that blue stuff is ? If that's sillycone, that is a BAD indication of the quality of work on rest of block !
Never have seen anything like that blue picture !!

I think you should take it to a Model A engine builder and have it checked over. It sounds like it has a lot of problems. You should also change those MG bearings or what ever they are to the newer one pice ones from AI. They will work better than those.

George -Who is AI that has the better bearings?

One of the problems with using inserts from other engines is once the block is bored to fit those inserts it might not be possible to change to other types, many different inserts have been used in "A" engines, the "MG" inserts happen to use the same bore as "AER" inserts ( http://antiqueenginerebuilding.com/ )--the international and onan ones a different bore--I remember from working on early MG that many times the insert would be cracked through the steel backing---only engine I saw it on more than once, never liked the idea of using them as a good choice for other applications

Are the ones shown in picture MG bearings? As in the car MG?
