Inner wheel well color

I am painting a 29 Roadster and inside the rear wheel wells should this area be painted body color or should it be black to match the fenders.

The original Ford paint specifications clearly indicate the fender wells were to be painted with black lacquer. On some rare occasions the assembly plants failed to do this.

I think some cars had the fender wells painted body color and some had the fender wells painted black. Partly, it depended on whether the body color was dark or light. I don't know what color you car is, but if it is a darker color, I would paint it body color with flattened paint which resembles unrubbed out lacquer.

Brewster Green is dark enough, I would paint the fender wells body color - flattened if you are a purest.
