In line fuel filter

Duffy, I like the filter as well. Granted it doesn't get much of anything in it since everything else is good on the system but it makes me feel better being there. I do have the shut off inside the cab but it leaks a little and haven't had the chance to fix it. Not to mention I live in apartments and the neighbors complained it smelled like fuel so the second shut off closer to the carb helped cure that issue. Oh and you know running it dry before shutting it off always helps too!

been thinking about this all day ,i read it last nite....i wouldnt put another filter on . makes it look non stock...then i thought, because i have to make a new line for mine,i would use a piece of std line ,then put a nice pipefitter loop in the line to absorb vibration,twisting-ect....the body is seperate from the engine here isnt it???

I would just buy an original style line from the parts houses. I've never seen the need for a loop and think it might cause problems. For one thing it makes the line longer and the gas will absorb more engine heat before it reaches the carb. This isn't good for the 10% crap gas sold today.

I agree with Tom about the loop idea. Although I recall seeing a photo someone posted of having done it with success, I think it's asking for trouble if you turn out to be one of the unlucky ones plagued by vapor lock. In the recent "vapor lock really" thread, you can see a photo of the sort of vapor bubble that can form, starting in the sediment bowl. In that case, the bubble burped on down the line harmlessly, but I wouldn't want to make its journey more complex than necessary.
