Impossible ... Stuck head

I think at one time there was a problem getting the head off and to save the head it was core drilled, then to fix the large holes the Steel sleeves were put in, there were kits for the core drill to remove the V8 aluminum heads that corroded to the studs

Always interesting answers and comments from you.

I saved some scrap, to refresh my memory I looked over it again. It turns out that it was not sleeves in all 14. So I do not know the number or location of them. The sleeves thickness is around 0.040 "and the OD around 9/16".
If they used a core drill, it must have been very thin, I doubt if it would last long, even if they didn't have to drill the whole depth.
Maybe they drilled away the entire stud.
I guess Ford drilled the holes in the cylinder head after the casting, if so why the need for steel sleeves. But ... you never know about old Ford scrap !!
When I started the battle I thought I was trying core drilling and at the first attempt I was lucky to hit a steel sleeve then thought never to drill 14 sleeves with a hand drill .......... so I sacrificed the head!

Thanks!
