I'm in the wrong place....

Too political for my tastes...
I did have a problem some members going overboard with politics,as Moderator I sent pm's to them and it has ceased to exist. Some forums do have Social Groups that are for O/T subjects, you just have to seek them out or go on twitter.

I enjoy mild over wild and all my Fords are far from Wild but for sure are not stock ...My 29' roadster is about 99% ford but is far from stock...The worth of knowledge here is very helpful on old FordS...I'm a Ford- Harley Guy and a persist at heart....I enjoy the people on the Barn and thank every One for there threads....

oh, gee don't go.

where did you even find this quote from Ryan and

why did you bother posting it.

never heard of 'let sleeping dogs lie'?

this forum has the good upload pic's system.:)

have a nice day!

y blockhead

in your first post in this thread, it say's quote from Ryan.

never mind that question now, i'm sure everyone

here is as happy as i am you're staying.:)

have a good evening!

I always thought this forum was just for Fords and that was it . I have been on the HAMB for a long time now and in some good groups as well . I was very happy when the Ford Barn was formed guessing that us Blue blood guys would have our own place to hang out at . :D

Well I guess I can't talk about my 55 too much that I am building since it doesn't have the orginal Y block anymore . :(
It now has a 302 with well reworked 289 heads w/1.90 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves . I match ported the heads for better flow and cleaned them up some too . I installed screw in studs and have Comp roller rockers on them and guide plates . The cam is a Comp cam with a .498 lift and a good amount of duration too . Has a RPM intake with a Holley 570 Street Avenger . I am going to be using an original early Mallory dual point distributor I have been saving .
Engine runs really great on my engine test stand with great throttle responce and sound really great too . I am going to use dual Smithys out the back as well ! They sound great behind the engine . :D

I build engines on the side from stock to wild and anything in between . I also do restoration work as well . Yea it's a hotrod but thats what I wanted .
To me this forum was for whatever your Ford had or what you were going to do to it .

Anyway I know there are plenty of sites for just 100% pure stock Fords .
I will still chime in on both the Barn & HAMB and will help anyone with their stock , hotrod or whatever you want to call your Ford .
Isn't that what we are all here for anyway ?

Jim, I agree 100%. Since I don't hear anyone complaining I suggest we just keep going the way we have been. The reason I posted the quote Ryan is that I found it strange that Ryan would post it. I was more or less joking because "we" know what this Forum is all about, Sharing knowledge whether it is stock or modified.

Side note; what length Smitty's are you putting on. I just put 30" Smitty's on my '55 Ranchwagon. Haven't had a chance to hear it yet, been into other projects on the car.

I have the older orginal ones for mine . I got the 30" too . They really sound sweet . Not as loud as Cherry bombs which I also like . The Smithy's have more of that old skool Fiberglass sounding glass pack sound that you would have had back in the early 1970's .
I really like how compact they are too . I had mine hooked up to headers . When the exhaust gets hotter the blue paint turns to a gold color and stays that way , at least they did on mine . Not the whole muffler but about 6" or so where the headers connect to them .
I guess I would have to say the sound of the Smithy's come very close to the old round Thrush Woodpecker blue glass pack mufflers from the early 70's . I loved the sound of those mufflers and wish I had a set for my 55 Ford .
I have also tried the DynoMax mufflers . They were the short round ones about 16" to 18" long and are loud !
I have heard the sound that the Porters mufflers make but that isn't the sound that I am looking for at all .

Hope that helps some .

Jim

That is one of the best things anyone can do to their classic or antique cars .
If you can't afford to give it a total restoration back to factory specifications , then make it the way you want it to be .
Most of us really wanted what we either had or wanted to have when we were teens anyway so we build them now the way we wanted to have them back in the day .
That way you can drive and enjoy your ride the way you want it to be like !
To me I just wanted more HP in my 55 Ford that I couldn't get from the Y block that I had . So I build myself a sweet 302 and did all the modification to the engine to get the power and torque that I wanted to have in it on pump gas .
So I have to admit that I have a Hotrod and not an orginial 55 Ford like when it was bought new .
My car , My choice ! :D
