I am happy to announce that my 1929 Phaeton is back on the road. Thank you to all who helped in the troubleshooting and such. At the end of the day, the cause of the car coming out of gear when heading up a hill appears to have been a combination of a warped bell housing and a bent transmission tower fork. Why do I conclude it was a combo-problem? 1) Because changing the transmission tower with a borrowed working one didn't fix the problem the other year and 2) changing the bell housing to one that was "true" and using my tower didn't fix the problem. With a new bellhousing and a new fork (witness marks were found showing the fork had a bend), the car stayed in gear. I will say that it took far too much time and $ to figure this out, but I am back on the road. I'll update my blog on it another time with some technical details and some videos to various links. - Seth
