What fun!

Couldn't resist; put chains on the '29 Briggs Town Sedan and headed for Mickey D's. Some guys will do almost anything for a cup of coffee! Gar Williams

you're an adventurous soul. Thanks to drifting I'm still digging out knee deep snow before I can attempt to use snowblower in Ft. Wayne, IN

More snow today in Mass. , drifts are beyond 6 ft. Plenty of work getting done on the "A" in this weather

Good for you! We got 20"+ last night and just finished cleaning out the driveway. Might need chains for the ride to work tomorrow in the 37 Plymouth, couldn't find 600-16 snow tires.

Hey Bruce, you have the plow blade on your roadster pickup?

enjoying the day off and peace to all!

Gar,
Thanks for sharing, made me smile! I'd a went with you if I'd a had the chance, as a pusher. Pushed/dug many a old car out of the snow back in Pa! Coffee' good also...

Snow- we got 3 inches of Snow and it was covered by 3 inches of Ice- Plow just slides over it.

Yesterday's storm was almost as bad, from my perspective. as the "big one" of '67. What made last night somewhat threatening and worse than what I remember of the winter storms of '78 - '79 was the very high wind gusts, over fifty to as much as sixty at the local DuPage County airport. My next door neighbor lost aluminum trim off of the east side of his home. I loved the record amount of snow during the winter of '78 - '79 and wouldn't mind if we had several more "big ones" yet this winter!

I just removed the chains from the '29 Briggs and they appear to have quite a bit of mileage left in them. They last almost forever on snow but wear quickly on concrete or asphalt. Gar Williams

Pilotdave: Probably so but the two employees who were able to make it to work noticed my car anyway and saluted my "courage" (insanity). It was great fun to get a "thumbs up" from other drivers, mostly in trucks with snowplows, that were out and about. What fun! Gar Williams

Brent: I use the Autolite manifold and matching cast iron cover with some success. Once the assembly is hot, it keeps the front seat area warm. My wife is happy with the heat, especially when she has a long skirt or coat on!

I can regulate the condensation on the windows to an extent by opening the drivers window. Conversation is not encouraged when the humidity is high such as when it is raining or snowing and defrosting is needed. I do carry a clean hand towel on the front seat.

For days like yesterday at 20 F and this morning at -9 F, the relative humidity is so low that condensation is not an issue. The heater is not overwhelming at today's temperatures! Gar Williams

Like your pictures. BTW my son just moved to Naperville last month on Yellowstar Ct. He does not have a A, but has a '64 Corvair I restored for him several years ago.
