If it has been sitting in the barn a long time probably some little varmints have crawled in and gotten it crudded up in there. I would put penetrating oil in it, let is sit for a day or two, then try it. You might also blow it out with air hose.

WD-40 first. If not fixed, determine if it is the lock or the locking pin. Does the switch move a bit? Take off the switch and try to wiggle the pin. The lock can be removed by drilling out the pressed in pin.

I tried WD-40 and PB blaster but did not unlock. Today I added Acetone/ATF mix to the treatment. 1 hour later, it worked so easy, it startled me. I am getting ready to do Andy's suggestion but I may need a little help with that.

thank you.

Rather than drill out the lock pin, just drill and tap for a 8/32 thread, then insert a correct screw and it'll pull out. Replace using the same pin after you're done working on it. Add some JB Weld to fill the drilled hole or just leave it as is

Go slow while drilling out the pin. Look for brass chips amongst the steel. That will tell that you have reached the brass lock cylinder. The cylinder should come out at that point. Tap the hole for a small allen set screw and you can install/remove the lock cylinder at will.

Look at these Ebay listings'The first is a column drop the buggered up hole underneath is where the pin goes. The second number shows a kit for that pin replacement.Lots of threads on this subject here
