How do I get the key and tumblers out of the housing I have removed the pin which holds it in I have tried to find something on a previous thread.I have asked at our v8 club meeting. It is a 39 pkup I have the column out of the truck. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP SUNSHINE

By turning the key to the "off" position it should come out. If it will not, The cylinder may be worn or damaged internally. It also may be the wrong key and is jammed into the cylinder. You can call me and I will try to help over the phone. 845 457 3546, Phil

I had the same problem with my 37 Tudor. I soaked the lock with PB Blaster (penetrating oil) and kept working the key back & forth over a period of a couple of weeks. Eventually everything freed up and the key came out.
I was beginning to wonder if maybe the wrong key had been used at one time, but when it finally came out that same key locked & unlocked the passenger door. I'm thinking it is probably the original key. :)

If your trying to remove the lock cylinder from the drop they can become held in place by years of dirt, rust and old dryed lubricant. Suggest you soak it in something like kerosene. The key turned half way will be held in the cylinder so it can be used to assist in pulling and you may be able to work a small punch around the back to try and tap it out.
