Ignition condenser

Hello, I thought I would post this information regarding ignition condensers, this info was posted on an antique motorcycle site that I am a member of. I have not used this product, but I intend to in the future, with the poor quality of condensers available today this will give you another option.

Just about anything will run fine on a .21-.22 micro-farad condenser (even old Fords.) The problem is quality of the unit, not capacity. Increased or decreased capacitance will effect the microscopic pitting on the points, but not even close to that caused by differences in average engine speed.

I don't know where you could find one now but one of my cars has a Thermal Spark box. You left the condenser in place and jumped the ignition power to the coil through the box. The points look like they were new after many miles. I think Holley bought them out when they bought MSD. The simplest MSD box can trigger from points, never tried though.
