On a zenith 1 carb, does anyone know what the maximum rpm range is for the idle jet , before the cap jet takes over?

The idle jet works when the throttle plate is in a closed position, as soon as the throttle plate opens gas no longer flows through the idle jet. you control the idle jet with the idle air mixture and throttle setting. Let the engine warm up, retard spark and throttle and keep the engine running at the lowest speed possible, then fine tune the idle air screw for highest RPM, you are looking for 14.7 parts of air to 1 part fuel. screwing in the idle air screw richest the mixture and out leans the mixture. Usually 1 1/2 turns out on the idle air screw puts you in the ball park for starting the fine tune process.
