Id crankshaft 1926 27

How do you tell a 26 27 crankshaft? I know the other years the shaft arms are a diamond shape, I have one where the arms are straight, is that the difference? What do I look for for the 26-26 ones. Thanks for the help!! Frank pkny

Frank , I was told to look for EE stamped on the shaft arm. I have about 14 cranks . Only one had the EE stamp.

The one I have that's in question has no markings at all . The arms are straight and more heavy than the diamond shaped ones. Perhaps it is an aftermarket crank?

Not all 26-27 cranks were EE. There also is some that are marked AA. EE denotes the metallurgical formula used to make the crank same as AA. Later cranks were heavier and some were not marked. Also check on the end were the gear goes, I have seen some marked out there.
