I wish i still had it!

1940 Hudson coupe. Sold to a couple of young guys in Edmonton about 1960 who knew where there was a "V-8" they could put in it. Car was black with a faded right rear fender and totally stock. Sold for $75

66 Fairlane GTA slightly warmed over, bought when I got out of the service in 1972, fun car to drive, could not afford the GAS

37 Coupe,

You don't suppose he was just being full of himself do you???

Offer him what you feel is fair.. Even odds he'll consider it.

I had two "beaters", back in the day, that I did not realize that they would become very special.
I drove a 1953 Ford Victoria to work, every day, back in the 60s. It was a nice car.
I also drove a 1964 Ford Galaxy XL 500 to work, every day, after I sold the '53. It was really nice. The previous owner was a car guy and changed the oil & filter, every 1,000 miles.
But, the car I really miss the most, was my 1955 Oldsmobile Starfire 98 Convertible. It was mint when I bought it for $1,500.00 in 1959. I had it during my single days.

I have a restored 1937 humpback and 1930 roadster pickup, back in 1973 we bought a chopped and channeled 1930 coupe with an olds motor in it, did it over in 1979 put a small block chevy in. Sold it in 1998 so my brother could go to college. Just today I had the chance to buy it back and did!!! what a great feeling to drive it again, so many good memories. Now to convince my wife it was a good idea...........

Well, you kids had all these late cars. I started byeing hot rod mags when I was 14, that was in 1950, they were full of chromed up flatheads, I knew I was always going to have one. I had 1/2 doz cars when I was 14, brought up in the country drove them all over those old dirt country roads. My first was a 1928 Chevy, the last of the 4 cyl. then bought a 34 Ford roadster with a bad engine, riped off the fenders and install a 37 85hp and then made dust all over the back country. Had a few others but got my drivers permet at 15 and bought my first car that I could put on road leagaly, 1938 2dr std. I was playing around after school at a garage and the owner showed me how to do a valve job on it. Then I did a valve job on my buddys 39 coupe, from then on it was Flatheads For Ever. I wish I had all my old cars back but I wouldn't have a barn big enough to hold them. Walt

A double whammy for me! I traded my 53 Merc. Monterey hardtop for a 56 Merc. Montclair hardtop then traded that for a VW beetle. Sure miss those nice Mercs. but all that happened in the late 50s. Had 3 little kids at the time and the VW got great gas mileage (poor excuse I know).

My '40 Merc Covert sedan. Daddy passed in 1956 and Mother needed to rent out the garage. While in Vietnam, I constantly dreamed that the Merc would be back in our garage when I returned. Many of us talked about our cars back home in the world. My Merc now lives in another man's garage in Dayton Ohio.
