I wish i still had it!

I am much younger than anyone so far.... I had a 69 corvair... and the 72 fiirebird I totally screwed up putting an edelbrock anf an old chrysler quad carb on it......

Those late Corvairs were the prettiest design to come out of the 60's, IMO.
I got a 47 Conv. for $65 at age 15 and sold it for 100 a few years later, sigh.

I bought a '66 Chevelle Convertable for $275 when I was in high school. Drove it hard for about a year and a half, then sold it (still running)for $200. To add insult to injury, when I sold it there was an Offenhauser six pack Hi-rise intake with all the carbs, cleaners, linkage, and a pair of Mickey Thompson slicks in the trunk.:(

I sold this `32 ford roadster in 1972 for $750.
wish i still had every 1932 ford car and part i ever sold since then.
the `56 nomad was my every day beater then, my how times change!

I still have my first car, a 1979 Mazda RX7 I bought when I got out of college. The one I wished I still had was a 1950 1.5 ton stake bed truck. An uncle gave it to me just to work on and Dad and I got it running. It ran so smooth you could hardly tell it was running. The other one I got back after many years and recently got it running again which is the 47 tonner that belonged to my Grandfather shown in my avitar.

Bought my first car when I was 16 in 1972, a 70 Camaro - I still have it.

Sold my second owner, beautiful, all original 70 AMX, 390, white with red leather interior in 1986 to buy my house. Had to sell it, but wish I still had it.

However, the house value has increased by 5 times what we paid for it in 1986.

and then there was the 67 impala convertible we had, that a highschool shop had rebuilt the 396 in it. couldn't get it running so my dad dumped it (this was early 80's). Thinking back on it, it would have been worth just taking apart and rebuilding again, Someting in the timing was screwed up or backwards....

I had a '57 MGA back in '66 but had to sell it when I went into the army in '68. I thought it would be easy to get another when I got out but no such luck. I did end up with the '36 pickup though.

Owning my own bodyshop has been great, as it allowed me to own and build quite a few cars, ( well over 100 pretty nice cars ), but the bodyshop business is also very dangerous, ( lots of chemicals ), as I also got cancer 6 years ago.

Here's a couple of cars I've had and sold in the past few years.

My '66 427 Corvette and my '66 427 Cobra.

Both are my dream cars, of course, they are also gold today.

Ditto here -- I kept my first car. It's looking better than when I got it (can't say the same about me though)

Well in '63 I sold my '52 Merc Convertible when I went into the Army.. Always loved that car and about 20 years ago when I found out how rare they were I really missed it.
Good luck and the fortunes of the gods where with me and there is another one setting in the garage..(Much better than the one I sold in 63)

Over my almost 68 years of life I have seen a lot of 53's, a few 54's but only (2) 52's and I have owned them both.

Along the way there have been other memorable cars 50 Merc Coupe, 55 Pontiac Convertible, 57 Bel Air 2 dr HT, 67 Chevelle, 40 Ford Coupe, but none have wooooed me like the '52

I used to have Cadillacs before I found my Ford V-8.

1971 Cadillac Sedan DeVille
1973 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
1976 Cadilac Coupe DeVille

The black 1971 Sedan was found for me by my girlfriend, who is now my wife. This was the last old car I owned before rekindling my interest in pre-war Ford V-8. This 1971 has 1973 hubcaps, which I think are better looking. When I put this Sedan DeVille up for sale it sold in two days.

The white 1973 Coupe was my favorite Cadillac. This car had about 67,000 on it when I bought it. Wish I still had this one.

I owned the 1976 Coupe and the 1973 Coupe simultaneously for a while. The gold coupe had about 25,000 miles on it when my brother purchased it. I was happy to purchase the car from him when he put it up for sale.

I had a 1972 Buick Electra 225 Sedan that I wish I still had. That was a nice car. My father had a 1973 Buick Electra that he drove us across the country a couple times. The 1972 Electra was 1/2 Inch longer the 1972 Cadillac. I love those old Buicks. TM

A 1953 F-100.I sold it in 1991 and the guy I sold it to recently contacted me aout not being able to get it started. He said the electric fuel pump and the mechanical one did not work.I offered that the ethanol was really tough on fuel pumps and was shocked when he told me the gas was the same that I had put in the tank in 91,I drove the truck into his garage and he had never even attempted to start or drive it until this summer. Always regretted selling it and always wanted it back,I gave up probably 15 years ago. I was really shocked when I tried this time and he asked me what I thought is was worth,I really did not know but he claims an insurance appraiser wrote it up for a low of $50,000 and a high of $75,000. That guy screwed up me ever getting back a truck I built for less than $6,000. I recently watched far better 53-56 F-100's go through the latest Mecum auction a real nice one reached $18,000.
