I need some help on the '36 windshield crank

I would like to center the adjustment crank on my '36 windshield. I'm wondering if it is just as simple as adding some spacers (washers) to the mounting hardware ? And photo's or advice would be a great help. As you can see the crank sits at the top of the clearance hole.
Thank you for your time,
H36

Either the dash is too low ( I think that's impossible if both the frame and dash are stock) or the mechanism is mounted too high or it's not a 36 mechanism. In any case, spacing the mechanism down should work but you might have an angle problem attaching it to the windshield frame.

You should be able to adjust that back into a more centered position. There are two mounting bolts that must be accessed from outside the windshield opening. That would be the area for any adjustment. I installed a Bob Drake repro mechanism in my'35 and it fits and works well. Ordered another for my 35 coupe.
