I'm running a 39 81-T motor in my 37 sedan with a t-5 s-10 ****** (speed way bell housing)with modified stock pedals,GM 10 bolt rear end.Im considering changing to a 53 flathead.I understand the 53 motor does not have the same type of bell housing and my adapter kit will not work.what will I need to make this swap? and will I be able to use my current clutch linkage, etc. will I have to shorten my drive shaft? there is alot of what if's!! is the swap worth it or should I just beef up my existing 39 motor it is stock except for electronic ignition. Thanks Barners!! you always give good advice!

You will need Mercury bellhousing 49 thur 52 and trucks 48 52 it looks like a half bellhousing and get the starter plate if you can.
Flywheel needed and clutch, and presure plate may use again. You need truck water pumps.Spacing should be the same, front to back.
