i am looking for ONE nice stock 32-34 spring perch.....i will buy two if you dont want to break up the pair.... but all i need is one and figured it might be easier to find one good one!!

i was disasembling my front end tonight to rebuild it and one of the pearch bolts would not come off, i tried heat etc, ,,finally manged to get the nut off and the perch out,, but it is buggered beyond repair..

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE IF YOU CAN HELP OUT!!

i boogered it up pretty bad,i got to admit... i tried really hard doing eveything i could ,trying eveything,,,finally split the nut ,but the tappered part was still down in it,,so i torched what was left of the tapperd part hoping the nut would melt before the perch or wishbone.. , but i got to far into the threads,, do you think its repairable??

(trying to get a better pic of the threads to download!)

this pics is the worst part of the threads,,,( i know! i messed it up!!)

i would cut off the end of perch in the smooth part above the damaged thread. cut the end of a bolt of correct size to correct length and weld on the end of perch. it worked for me---- baz

This can be repaired, grind the weld slag off clean up the threads so you can weld on them. Pre heat and then weild up the threads to build up the area with steel so it can be machined and re-threaded at a machine shop. I usually leave a little of the original threads showing at the top of the threaded area so that the machinist knows whete to start. The last one took 1/2 hour on a lathe with a 4 jaw chuck.
