I need a measurement

Hey All,

I'm building an engine dolly while the cars engine is still in the car and I'd like to have the dolly more or less finished before I remove the engine. I have the dimension of the front mounting bolts on the timing cover but I need the dimension of the motor-mount pads on the flywheel housing.

Does anyone have one lying around that they can measure for me?

Regards
Bill

Bill - I built the one described in this post (there is a PDF drawing in one of the responses) and installed it on an el-cheapo Harbor Freight furniture dolly. It rests on the pan flange, not the motor mounts. Works great.

If you still want to make your own here is an engine drawing that was posted on the forum before. Good luck!

The Dave Gerold’s easy engine stand as discussed above. Worked well for me as an inexpensive way to store engine. Just 2”x6”s, deck screws and a movers dolly from Home Depot, Harbor Freight etc.

Thank you guys

I had one that was made of wood, but after using it a few times and rolling around on ruff asphalt concrete seams and dirt, it's pretty wobbly and coming apart so I'm building one from steel.

Thanks KMBeers, that's exactly what I was looking for.

Regards
Bill
