I have a 1936 Ford 1 1/2 ton dump truck with a hydrostatic gas gauge that appears to be in good condition. I have purchased a re-build kit for it from Mac's. Inside the tube where the red fluid goes there was a copper wire inside that was as long as the tube is deep. The directions I received with the re-build kit does not show the copper wire, which is approx. 1/16" dia. My question is wheather or not this wire belongs in there, or if anyone has any ideas regarding this.
