Huckster Project

Hey Guys, here are some pictures of the Huckster that me and a few guys from my church are working on. We have about 3 solid nights into it (once a week) and I've got a few extra hours in it. We are not 100% period correct (I've used phillips head screws) but this is great fun and we should be on the road this summer.

I sure enjoy mine. I haven't hauled anything in it, but it's nice to know i can. The previous owner rebuilt my bed and body and did a pretty good job. Someday i plan on loading it with produce and hanging a scale on the side ;) i have a pocket bike chopper that i'll strap in the bed for our next cruise-in.

No way that truck will even start with those screws in it.LOL Just kidding.Enjoy it RAY

Ray, thanks for the laugh, and for those who want to know, all but the floor is solid Oak, the floor is douglas fir (mainly because I'd have to buy a ton of Oak packages to get the pieces I wanted and the douglas came in 6 foot lengths

Thanks Fred, I had seen yours on the Huckster page. You have a very nice car. This is the first real project that me and a few buddies have done with wood working. We finished installing the top wood tonight and will be moving on to the top material soon. The front posts still need to be cut or whatever to get that funny angle and then it is on to the doors... May be ready for mounting by Labor Day.

Fred, any chance you have a picture of your front pillar, I am not quite visualizing it as I read the plans

Eric, you may want to check my albums on my information page. I have an album called "Door Posts" that may give you some pictures. These are about all I have or can take that would give you a good look. I also sent you a PM.

Thanks Fred, that does help, I should be able to get those posts done the next evening I get a chance to work on the huckster. More to come...
