How to remove seat in '31 coupe

Okay, I know the answer must be obvious - but I can't figure it out. I need to remove the seat in my '31 coupe - but it is not moving. It does not have an adjustment wheel.

Does the seat slide out? Is it one piece, or are the seat and back separate? I have tried lifting and sliding it out, but it does not want to budge.

thanks,
Todd

on my 31 coupe the seat has a wood base and on the front of the seat
left and right are two holes that go over nubs on the bottom you must pull seat up from the front to release.
Good luck

Early 31 or late 31 coupe? Late 31 have a sawtooth adjustment and ride on two metal tracks. Mine sounds like yours when I first got it. The whole seat package was rusted to the tracks and it required a lot of persuading with a rubber mallett.

ok , to remove seat . take the bottom cushion out , youll see 4 screws on the side boards , remove from both sides . the back is attached , so you remove the entire seat . help is good , but you can do it yourself . go to one side & lift it up off the pegs & move it a little forward , then do the same on the other side . now you can tilt it so as to remove it . the steering wheel will be in the way , but by testing you can figure out how to get it out .................. good luck .........

You may also have to remove the package tray upholstery before you take the seat out. Normally, the tray cover material is tacked to the back of the seat back. The cardboard "liner" for the tray cover is located by several "tabs" stamped in the package tray that index into holes in the cardboard liner. Using a mirror and light, you can see the tabs by looking at the bottom of the tray from the rumble seat / trunk. That will give you an idea as to how the tray cover slides out. Gar Williams
