How to remove lens cover from 46-48 Pillar Lights ?

Here is a picture I got from an EBay listing of the same style lights that are in my Hot Rod, I can't figure out how the metal cover (that holds the round lens) separates from the base to change the light bulb, I must be missing something obvious...

There is no screws (just the ones that go in the base), the cover will slide up & down on the base a bit, but won't come apart.

I just want to separate like they are in the picture.

Thanks in advance.

It's been a long time, but I remember tabs with dimples that snap on the socket base---pry it off wiggling some

I've installed mine in my 48 in the last year.

There is a piece missing in the pic it fits inside the bezel over the lens and the bezel has tabs on the back that bend over this piece to hold it in place. The whole unit then pushes into the hole of the body that hold the lamp ( around the outside of the lamp). If you look at the body near the screw holes that mount it to the door pillar you can just make out a dimple. There is one on each side These dimples are what holds the the lens assembly to the bulb holder... it is a "press fit". To remove gently prise it off with a stubby screw driver or the like. The missing piece is probably hidden behind the lens in the picture.
