I need to remove the crankshaft collar directly behind the crank pulley to install an early pulley to clear the front crossmember on my 32 coupe. Having removed the pulley & timing cover it doesn't appear there is sufficent room to use a conventional gear puller, i'm assuming the crank gear must be pulled forward to force the collar forward as well. Using channel lock pliers to rock it side to side does not appear possible with out dropping the oil pan to get a good circumfrence grip. Has anyone delt with this ?
