As a general rule, modern engine lubricants have everything blended into the oil that an engine needs for lubrication.
The use of upper cylinder lubricants added to the fuel and/or intake system is a whole different subject..
Most good tuneup men that I know are recommending 4oz of MMO per 10 gal of fuel to counteract the harmful effects of modern unleaded fuels on any carbureted engine. Reputedly the MMO will minimize the early failure of fuel and accelerator pumps, while at the same time provide upper cylinder lubrication..

definition according to Google search;

a container, typically made of glass or plastic and with a narrow neck, used for storing drinks or other liquid.

I don't use MMO in the oil, I put it in the gas tank and top oilers. My method of measurement is very scientific, four glugs per tank full (out of the bottle)...:D

I put 2 oz in 5 gallons of diesel for my tractor. My theory is that it helps lubricate the pump since the low sulphur fuel came about. I also use the same amount in my non-ethanol small engine fuel. In addition to the upper cylinder lube and cleaning, it helps reduce the electric fuel pump wear.

I am not trying to cure anything I thought ( don't know where I heard it ) it was a must to help prevent valve problems ~~ glad I asked.

P.S. to 41ford1
