How Fast

Was it insert bearing or babbitt?
From the looks of the crankshaft the bearing burned up first —- the pounding loosening the nut and the single stud wasn’t up to the task of holding it together

Exactly right. If the stud broke first the crank journal would likely look much better.

The rods in the busted engine had Babbitt bearings.
I do not remember the make of the oil pan gasket.
The rod cap failed first.
Since replacing that failed engine, my wife limits my speed to 55MPH on the highway. I travel on the interstates often cruising at 50 MPH. I leave a lot of space for modern traffic to cut in front of me. I do not compete with modern traffic in any way. Last week I ran down I-395 from Southbridge, Massachusetts to New London, Connecticut in pouring rain without any modern traffic issues.
My Model A's have 3.78 differentials & hi-compression cylinder heads.

Hello unfortunate about rod throwing, I drive around 45 mph , car is stock . On past Ford Barn discussions tire size seems to be the big factor in braking , have the 19 x 4.75 radial on the 1931
