How fast am I going?

My car has an electronic speedo (Autometer) installed by the PO, but he never bothered to hook it up. I have found this and wondered if anyone has any experience with one and if so, how do you feel about it?

I would really like to get it operating.

Thanks

I am using Autometer gauges with the electric speedometer, when I bought the set it came with the cable to electric pulse sender for the transmission but I didn't use it because the t5 had the electric output already. If you want it let me know and will send it to you no charge, its still in the package and can send the calibration sheet along with it (if I can find the sheet).

What a great offer, but before you go to the trouble, I need to ask if you can describe more about the cable to transmission hook up. I'm pretty ignorant at this point in that I don't know for a fact what ****** is in it. It's a 3 speed with side shifter linkage. It "could be" out of a '50 Ford?? I have a link explaining the calibration instructions. Unfortunately, the PO can't help because he didn't build the car and doesn't know how to contact the person that did. Wish I had the money to put in a T5, but that isn't gonna happen.

I believe the sensor from Summit uses small magnets attached to the drive shaft. The sensor puts out a signal as the magnets rotate past it. There may be other sensors that fasten to the speedometer connection on your transmission; the cable that Vergil is describing is probably meant to connect to one of those.

The sensor adapter screws onto the transmission speedometer cable output with a stub cable driving the pulse which screws into the adapter and then two wires from it, will see if I can find a picture of it.

This shows what it would look like put together but it doesn't have the pass through for cruise control.
