How do I ID my fuel pump??

I have a flattie in my 52 F-5 and it seems to be a mixture of parts so I am guessing at what everything is. It has 8cm heads but what looks like a 8ba intake and 94 carb. I'm guessing someone wanted a little more power and replaced the Ford motor with the Mercury motor and kept the intake and carb on from the 8ba for ease of swap.

The fuel pump needs a rebuild, but since I know little of the flatheads, I do not know how to ID the fuel pump. I have seen listings that there are single and dual action pumps and parts numbers for the kits from 48-50 are different than the 51-52.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks

48-50 use a different flex line than 51-53 (1/8" pipe thread)

Exactly right. You can use a 48-50 pump on later flathead, just need to remove the 1/2-20 to 1/8 pipe thread fitting from your line. And vice versa with this fitting. The top pictures are of dual action pumps.

On the original AC pumps you can see the later pumps have a thinner band around the inlet for the fitting. It is maybe 1/4" as opposed to the 1/2" band you see on these.

Thanks for all the information, the pump I have is either the 48-50 or the 51-53 truck single action. I cant tell yet because the mud bees made a nest in the inlet, but now that I know the difference I'm sure I can make it work.

Thanks-
