How do I get the A OOO GA sound back?

I have a Sparton horn that has a strong sound, but I cannot adjust to the
A-OOO-GA sound. Any susgestions?

My understanding was that the Ah was it speeding up, the OOO was at max, and the Ga slowing down.
If you have to high voltage it goes right to max, so you miss the Ah.
If there is not enough resistance if goes right to max.

Painting the diaphragm can alter the sound.
Oil soaked brushes can leave a deposit on the commutator ( my usual pre parade prep is to clean the commutator)
A weak ground at the horn button can change the sound ( measure the voltage to ground at each terminal when the horn is operating—- compare supply voltage to battery voltage when operating the horn,
Any voltage on the ground side should be well under 0.5 volts (rusty spring under the horn button—- when using the horn a lot the button can get warm with a weak ground there

Oil, a light oil as recommended by the manufacturers. The fun and smiles when the horn announces the arrival of the Fabulous Ford is irreplaceable.

What #5 said. Plus they sound stronger with the motor running, and a little throttle.

A gob of steering box 600W dripping over the light switch (at the bail clamp) can impact the sound too. You can clean that off with a shot of either, or break-kleen.

How is the horn button removed? I have determined that the ground is not good to my horn when I press the button. If I ground directly to the horn connection I get the proper AH-OOG-AH sound, but only an OOG when I use the button.

Is it as simple as bending the 4 tabs on the back side of the light / horn flange back?

My iPhone has an Old Car Horn as one of the choices for a Ringtone. It sounds very authentic. Maybe you could just use that.
