hose clamps

I am trying to find some old style band type hose clamps like what was used on the flathead radiator hoses, but that are small enough to fit the water pump by-pass hose for y-blocks. the eng. in my coupe is a 272 and has these style clamps, but I did not build that eng. I am going to be replacing it with a larger displacement Y-Block, but I want to try and not have to disassemble the eng I am taking out. I can use the radiator hose clamps again, but would rather not take the by-pass hose and clamps off of it. I would rather be able to just set it aside complete. I have looked at mac's and several 32-48, 49-53, and 54- and up catalogs and cannot seem to find the small ones, only radiator hose size. any leads will be appreciated, some one must make them, I just have not found out who. Thanks---Jim

I think I finally found them in the Mac's online catalog. I did not see them in my old paper catalog. now if the shipping is not to outrageous , I will be in business, I will probably order some other things just to make the postage /shipping easier to swallow. hard to justify 10-15 or more bucks shipping for a few clamps that would not even fill up a USPS small flatrate box. any other leads appreciated, thanks ,-----Jim

Not sure which ones you are using. My experience with the repop clamps is they are thin and flimsy, was not happy. I found some NOS Wittek clamps from the 40's and 50's, they are the tower type with a thumb screw. Not only do they work well they look great.

^^ yep what he said.
Not completely sure of what you are asking here, but yblocks originally used the heavy tension wire style clamp. Not a screw type.

These are the clamps I was looking for Found them at Mac's on line catalog. for some reason I could not find them in my paper catalog. I have some ordered and they are on their way. I should have them tomorrow or the next day. Thanks for everyone's help.. Miker, I will ck out that web site, might find something else I can't live without lol. Y'sguy, yes I knew that the Y-blocks came with a heavy "wire " type clamp. they are often refereed to as Corbin style clamps.. Thanks again everyone for your help.------Jim
