Horn Button Circuit

Flathead 1930

I have purchased a horn button from a 1937-1938 Ford. The button has only one wire connected to one side of the button contact. Could someone please explain how the horn circuit works.

Thanks for any information

It is actually just a ground wire when you push down you are grounding the circuit to make it work, same goes for starter button, check it out ,a switch with one wire going to it or coming from it how ever the perspective, but just one wire.

Simplified...here's a picture. The button housing is grounded. The wire goes to the horns. The circuit is completed when the button (switch) is closed. The current flows through the button housing to the frame, through the body and to the positive terminal. Don't worry about which direction the current flows...all you need is a complete circuit.

If you switch from positive to negative ground, this circuit won't work. There is a fix for that but requires more parts.
