Hood Removal Question

I'm trying to remove the hood on my 1930 CCPU. The book says to remove the two screws at the back of the hood that holds the pin. The two screws won't back out, as they have nuts on the underside that rotate. The are under the dash inside the cab, and I can see them from under the car as I have the floor boards out. I don't know how to rotate my old body inside the cab somehow to get to them with a wrench while having someone turn the screws.
I'm planning on removing the radiator as part of this project, so can I just tilt the radiator forward to remove the hood pin from the radiator side, the just pull it from the bracket in back?
I want to be careful as the radiator is painted. I've read some of the threads on removing the hood, but none seem to do it this way.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I agree, that will work. To make it even easier, I remove the side hood hinge rods and hood sides. this makes the hood lighter and reduces the risk of damaging the hood or the paint. I easily do this by myself.

Thanks guys. I took the support rods off, and that gave me enough slack to get the hook released from the rear bracket. Got the hood off with no damage, now on to the rest of the project.
Thanks again.
